As of March 1st, 2021, all grocery and limited edition pints will have a ‘May Contain’ statement on it for Peanuts, Hazelnuts and Pistachios. If you have purchased a pint that DOES NOT have the may contains declaration on it, it was produced at a time when our facility was still 100% peanut and tree nut free.

As Righteous continues to grow our top priority is to ensure our product quality standard is being upheld. Therefore, we have made the decision to move production back in-house to our Calgary facility, including the production of our nut flavours, starting March 1st. This means that our regular, always available flavours will no longer be made in a nut-free facility. This isn't a forever thing, but a move to keep our pint quality even better than expected until the day comes where we build a second facility where there are 'no nuts allowed'. 

Today, we are committed to taking every precaution to clean and sanitize our kitchen. A thorough sanitation is conducted between each peanut and non-peanut, hazelnut and non-hazelnut, pistachio and non-pistachio, and coconut and non-coconut production run. Additionally, a specific protein (peanut, hazelnut, pistachio or coconut) allergen test is conducted on the equipment to verify cleanliness before production begins. 

While we can no longer guarantee an allergen-free environment, we take allergens very seriously and use caution to take all necessary steps to uphold our commitments when offering allergen friendly options. We encourage consumers to use this information to make the best decision for themselves as well as refer to our allergen memo. 

As always, our production facility is attached to our Cafe and Officina which also serves specialty flavours, which on occasion do contain tree nuts, peanuts and other allergens. Please keep this in mind when choosing a flavour if you visit our cafe or participate in a gelato academy.
